  • ELTOSA is a relatively informal network and forum with no formal constitution and bylaws.
  • The chair will rotate every two years.
  • ELTOSA does not have funds or staff.
  • Annual meetings are organised by the committee and the host country and delegates pay their own way.
  • Contributions to the activities by members are voluntarily.
  • Decisions are taken by consensus.



Mission
ELTOSA's mission is to provide a facilitating regional forum for the national networks and to create synergy among them. ELTOSA aims to overcome the inadequacies of short-term small-scale ecological research and to create sufficient critical mass in terms of intellectual and infrastructural capacity that will support and inform environmental policy making on the Southern African Sub-Continent.

This website will keep you informed about ELTOSA and the associated environmental research programmes of the member countries.
